The C115 synchronised-shuttle transmission features manual selected 4 forward 4 reverse gears
The C115 is an optimised product used to power Back Hoe Loader applications. New technologies have been employed to decrease friction losses by 25-30% over the Compact Plus transmission. This improves fuel efficiency by reducing losses in the transmission.
The C115 is a manual select, stick shift transmission. It has four forward and four reverse gears with a fully synchronised design. It has a maximum engine power range of 86kWatts (115Hp) and is rated for torque forces of up to 734Nm (571 lb ft.) Forward and reverse can be selected on the move for shuttling operations. The transmission is designed to be used with a torque converter it has SAE3 converter mounting providing the link between the engine output and the transmission input. Gear selections are made manually using gear synchronisers which brings the drive gear and the selected gear to matching speeds to allow the change. Changes of directions made on the move are supported by hydro-mechanical valves.
The C115’s gears feature helical teeth. In contrast to straight cut gears the contact area of the individual helical tooth is longer and up to three gear teeth on each gear are in contact at any one time. Helical teeth increase the surface area of contact across the gears, leading to a reduction in the concentration of surface forces, reducing noise and extending gear life. The transmission features tapered roller bearings on all gear shafts designed to counter the axial forces that are inherent in helical gear systems. The transmission has a steel case to maintain alignment.
The C115 is a co-axial transmission featuring a drive shaft that passes through the transmission to allow the engine to drive a hydraulic pump of SAE B, 4 bolt design remote of the transmission drive. This increasing efficiency and improving safety allowing the hydraulic pump to be driven even if the vehicle is stationary. The C115 can be fitted with temperature, pressure and speed sensors. The C115 is available in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive with SAE 1410 output yoke(s).
